X-RAY ANALYSIS APPLICATION

An expert system was developed to analyze X-rays to determine the chemical content of materials. The system automatically performs the interpretation of large numbers of X-ray spectra obtained by electron probe microanalysis of single particles. The system is rule based and employs forward chaining. The system was implemented using OPS5 and was developed at the University of Antwerp, Belgium.
